Filipe Afonso

I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist with extensive experience working with LGBTQIA+ individuals. My practice is grounded in an affirmative, inclusive, and non-judgmental approach, where clients are supported to explore their identities, relationships, and lived experiences in a safe and validating space. I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Affirmative Psychosocial Interventions for LGBTQIA+ Individuals, which informs my work with issues such as identity exploration, coming out, minority stress, internalized stigma, and relationship concerns. Alongside my clinical work, my volunteer experience with LGBT Ireland has further strengthened my understanding of the diverse challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ communities across different stages of life.
