I am a counselling psychologist with a strong interest in working with LGBTQ+ individuals, particularly around identity, lived experience, and mental health within complex social and cultural contexts. My work is grounded in creating safe, non-judgmental, and affirming spaces where individuals can explore their identities, relationships, and emotional experiences without fear of pathologisation. Through my fieldwork in school and rehabilitation settings, I have worked with individuals from diverse and often marginalised backgrounds, which has strengthened my ability to engage with sensitivity, flexibility, and awareness of systemic and interpersonal challenges. My dissertation, which explores how trans men in urban India construct and embody masculinity, reflects my commitment to centring lived experiences and understanding identity beyond clinical frameworks. I tend to work in an integrative and responsive manner, adapting to the needs of each individual while prioritising the therapeutic relationship. My approach is informed by trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally sensitive perspectives, with a focus on autonomy, dignity, and meaning-making. My own lived experiences of queerness and neurodivergence further inform my practice by deepening my empathy and reflexivity, while I remain mindful of maintaining boundaries and not projecting my own experiences onto clients. As an early-career practitioner, I value supervision, ethical practice, and ongoing learning, and aim to hold therapeutic spaces that are collaborative, respectful, and affirming of diverse identities.
